Murder on the Atlantic

Murder on the Atlantic

(Edited from the book jacket cover)

That witty amateur detective Steve Allen is back in another wickedly entertaining mystery as he and his vivacious wife Jayne Meadows take to the high seas on a luxury cruise that leads -- where else? -- to murder.
Steve and Jayne are given a chance to be part of history in the making when reclusive billionaire Marcus Wilmington invites them to join the star-studded maiden voyage of his new luxury liner.  Rivaling the great cruise ships of old, The Atlantic will user in a new age of first-class trans-Atlantic travel.
The real reason Wilmington has invited Steve and Jayne aboard is because he is convinced someone wants the launch to fail.  As successful amateur sleuths, they are ideal investigators;  as celebrities, they'll fit in with the rest of the glitterati Wilmington has assembled for the splashy voyage from New York to Southhampton.
The Statue of Liberty is barely behind them when the ship cruises into stormy waters:  a body turns up in a lifeboat.
The cast of suspicious characters ranges from a scandalous member of the British royal family to an obnoxious Wall Street buyout king to America's #1 female rock star.  Soon more dead bodies turn up in the most inappropriate places, leaving Steve and Jayne to solve the most baffling mystery of their detecting careers...hundreds of kilometers out to sea without a life preserver.
